In short
- We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard or a magnifier.
- We aim for WCAG 2.1 level AA. The site meets much of it, but it has not yet been tested by an outside expert.
- If anything is hard to use, call or WhatsApp +91 87188 19093 and we will help you straight away.
- We can read any page to you over the phone, in Hindi or English.
1. Our commitment
Sitamaa Sahayata Foundation works with Adivasi families in Barwani district, including older people and people with disabilities. Our website should be as easy for them to use as our camps are to walk into. This statement covers every page on this website.
2. The standard we follow
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. This is the international standard, and it is also the one the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW) are based on. We are not a government body, but we follow the same standard in the spirit of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
3. What we have done
- A Skip to content link is the first thing a keyboard or screen reader user reaches on every page.
- Every page has one main heading, and headings follow in order, so a screen reader can list them.
- Everything can be reached with the Tab key, and the place you are on is clearly outlined. Menus, search and the photo viewer close with the Escape key.
- Text and buttons use colours chosen to be readable against their background.
- Pages work when you zoom in the browser, and on phones as small as 320 pixels wide, without scrolling sideways.
- Photos that carry meaning have a short text description. Decorative patterns are hidden from screen readers.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, the opening animation, moving text and slow turning shapes stop.
- Forms have a visible label on every field and explain each mistake in words next to the field.
4. What does not work well yet
We know about these gaps and are working on them:
- The site is in English only. Hindi pages are planned.
- The map on the Home and Contact pages is hard to use with a screen reader or keyboard. The full address is always written next to it, and you can call us for directions.
- The site has not yet been tested by people who use screen readers every day, or by an outside auditor.
- Some photos are stock photos until our own field photos arrive, and their descriptions are general.
5. Need something in another way?
If you cannot read or use any part of this website, tell us what you need. We can read a page to you over the phone, send the text on WhatsApp in a simpler form, or post a printed copy. There is no charge.

Call or WhatsApp +91 87188 19093, Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm.
6. Tell us about a problem
Please tell us which page it was, what you were trying to do, and what device or reader you use, if you know. We will reply, tell you what we will change, and help you in the meantime. We use what you send only to fix the problem, as set out in our Privacy Policy.
7. How we checked
The website team checked the pages themselves on 28 September 2026, with a keyboard, with browser zoom, and on phone and desktop screen sizes. We will review this statement at least once a year, and every time we add a major new part to the site.
