Honestly

Four things to know
before you send money

01

Tax

No tax receipt yet

We do not hold 80G approval, so a gift is not tax deductible. We will not pretend otherwise.

02

Costs

No salaries, no rent

Nobody is paid and there is no office. Money goes to material, medicines and travel.

03

Ask

Ask where it went

Call and ask what a past gift paid for. We are small enough to answer that honestly.

04

In kind

Things help too

Notebooks, medicines or a doctor for a morning often do more than cash.

Good to know

The rules we follow with your money

Straight answers to what people ask us before they give.

Still not sure?

Talk to us before you give

A founder or volunteer picks up, Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm.

Who can give right now?

Citizens of India only, including NRIs with an Indian passport giving their own money. The foundation is not registered under the FCRA, so it cannot accept money from foreign nationals, OCI or PIO card holders, or organisations outside India.

Is my gift tax deductible?

Donations are not eligible for income tax deduction and we cannot issue a tax certificate. When the foundation receives approval under section 354 of the Income-tax Act, 2025 (formerly 80G), this page will say so, with the approval number.

How will I know my money reached you?

Send the UPI reference, your name and your address on WhatsApp and we reply with a written acknowledgement. We ask for your name and address because we keep a record of every donor.

Paid twice or sent the wrong amount?

Tell us within 15 days and we return it to the same account. The same applies if you did not authorise the payment. Details in the Refund Policy.

Can I give cash?

No. Give by UPI so there is a record for both of us. Bank details for a transfer will be published here once the account paperwork is complete; until then, call us.

How do I know a UPI ID is really yours?

Our only UPI ID is the one shown on this page. We never ask for money through a personal account or an unknown number. If someone does, tell us on +91 87188 19093.

Other ways to help

Money is only one way in

Give time

A few hours a month

Teaching, camp help, translating, driving or photos. Pick what fits your week.

Give things

Notebooks or medicines

Tell us what you have and we will say whether it is needed right now.

Give space

A room for a camp

Lend a school room, a panchayat hall or a courtyard where we can hold a camp or a reading circle.
