In short
- Donations are gifts and are normally final.
- We refund in full if you were charged twice, paid the wrong amount, or did not authorise the payment, when you tell us within 15 days.
- The money goes back to the card, UPI ID or bank account you paid from, within 7 to 10 working days of our approval.
- You can stop a monthly donation at any time before the next debit.
1. Our general rule
A donation to Sitamaa Sahayata Foundation is a voluntary gift, and we start putting it to work quickly. For that reason donations are not normally refunded, and we cannot refund a donation because you have changed your mind after it was used.
2. When we do refund
We refund the full amount when you contact us within 15 days of the payment and it was:
- a duplicate: you were charged more than once for the same donation;
- the wrong amount: for example ₹50,000 entered instead of ₹5,000;
- unauthorised: you did not make or approve the payment;
- a failed transaction: money left your account but the donation did not complete.
We may also refund in other cases where it is fair to do so. Each request is decided by two trustees.
3. How to ask for a refund
Email info@sitamaasahayata.org with the subject “Refund request”, or call +91 87188 19093, and give us:
- your name, and the email or mobile number you used to donate;
- the date and amount of the donation;
- the transaction ID, UPI reference or bank UTR number, from your payment confirmation or bank statement;
- the reason for the request, with a screenshot or statement where it helps.

Refunds go only to the card, UPI ID or bank account the donation came from, as Reserve Bank of India rules require. We cannot pay a refund in cash or to a different account. Your bank may take a few more days to show the credit.
5. Charges
We refund the full amount you paid for a duplicate, wrong, unauthorised or failed payment. For a refund we agree to in any other case, we may deduct the fee our payment partner kept on the transaction, and we will tell you the amount before we process it.
6. Refunds and tax records
A refunded donation is not a donation for tax purposes. We will not issue a Form 114 certificate for it. If we have already reported it to the Income Tax Department in Form 113, we will file a correction. If we have already sent you a certificate for it, please do not use it in your return.
7. Stopping a monthly donation
You can stop or change a monthly donation at any time. To stop the next debit, do one of the following at least 3 working days before it is due:
- cancel the mandate in your UPI app (under “Autopay” or “Mandates”), or in your card or net banking settings; or
- email info@sitamaasahayata.org or call +91 87188 19093 and we will cancel it for you and confirm in writing.
You will receive a notice at least 24 hours before each debit. If a debit goes through after you asked us in time to cancel, we refund it in full.
8. When a programme is cancelled
If you gave for a named camp, class or project and it is cancelled, we will tell you and use your gift for the closest similar work in Barwani district. If you would prefer a refund, tell us within 15 days of our notice.
9. Donations we must return
We return, without being asked, any donation we are not allowed to accept by law, including any contribution from a foreign source (we are not registered under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010), and any gift where we cannot record who gave it.
