Every year, children in and around Barwani miss scholarships they are entitled to, not because they do not qualify but because a document was missing or the form went in late. Most of the work can be done well before the last date.
What is the first step for a scholarship in Madhya Pradesh?
Every scholarship in Madhya Pradesh starts from the family’s Samagra ID. If the family does not have one, register at the gram panchayat or on samagra.gov.in with Aadhaar details. Check that the child’s name, date of birth and category are correct in it.
Where do you apply?
- State scholarships, including pre-matric and post-matric: MP Scholarship Portal 2.0 (scholarshipportal.mp.nic.in).
- Post-matric scholarships for Scheduled Tribe students: the MPTAAS portal of the Tribal Affairs Department (tribal.mp.gov.in).
- Central government scholarships: the National Scholarship Portal (scholarships.gov.in).
Which documents do you need?
- Aadhaar card and Samagra ID of the student.
- Caste certificate and income certificate, where the scheme asks for them.
- Domicile certificate of Madhya Pradesh.
- Last year’s marksheet and this year’s admission or enrolment proof.
- A bank account in the student’s name, linked to Aadhaar. The money is paid straight into it.
Why does a scholarship payment get stopped?
A bank account not linked to Aadhaar, a spelling that does not match between documents, and a form that the school has not verified. After applying, check the status on the portal until it shows as paid.
