An Ayushman card lets a family be treated in hospital without paying at the counter. Under Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY, known in Madhya Pradesh as Niramayam, each eligible family gets cover of up to ₹5 lakh a year for admission and treatment at government and listed private hospitals.
Who can get an Ayushman card in Madhya Pradesh?
- Families named in the SECC 2011 list.
- Families with a ration card under the food security scheme (NFSA), checked through their Samagra ID.
- Sambal card holders.
- Everyone aged 70 or older, whatever their income, through the Ayushman Vay Vandana card, in place since October 2024. Older members of a family that is already covered get extra cover of their own.
To check a family, look up the Samagra ID or Aadhaar on the official site beneficiary.nha.gov.in, or ask at the hospital.
What do you need to bring?
- Aadhaar card of each person, and the mobile number linked to it (an OTP comes to that number).
- Samagra family ID.
- Ration card or Sambal card, if the family has one.
Where do you get the card made?
The Ayushman Mitra desk at the district hospital or a listed private hospital, or a Common Service Centre (CSC). People with a smartphone can also do it themselves on the Ayushman app. The card is free: nobody should charge for making it.
